Canada's Mental Health Crisis: The Fight for Safe Death

A Fading Light at the End of Life Claire Brosseau, a 49 year old Toronto comedian and actress, has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.

Despite exhausting every treatment option available to her, she is functionally terminal – unable to work or leave the house. Yet, she is not eligible for medically assisted dying in Canada, at least not yet.

This disparity highlights the stigma surrounding mental health issues in Canada.
